Bac Giang province cooperates with Viettel to develop science and technology
BAC GIANG - The Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee (PPC) has just coordinated with the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group (Viettel) to sign a memorandum of understanding to implement Resolution No. 57 - NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation (Resolution No. 57).
The event was attended by Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Viet Oanh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lam Thi Huong Thanh, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council from Bac Giang side.

On the side of Viettel Group, Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group; Cao Anh Son, Deputy General Director of the Viettel Group also attended the meeting.
At the event, PPC Chairman Nguyen Viet Oanh emphasized that in recent years, Bac Giang province and Viettel Group have implemented many comprehensive cooperation programmes, notably building digital infrastructure and digital transformation.

Viettel Group has actively supported the province in the application and development of information technology, thereby, helping the province achieve average economic growth rate of 14% per year during the 2020-2024 period, among the leading localities in the country.

With the goal of developing towards modern industry and dynamic services, Bac Giang province hoped to welcome large domestic corporations such as Viettel to invest and support to strongly promote digital transformation, build smart cities, green cities; improve the quality of human resources, develop science, technology, and innovation.
The province is committed to creating all conditions for the cooperation contents between the two sides to be implemented effectively, substantially and sustainably.

On behalf of Viettel Group, Chairman and General Director Tao Duc Thang expressed his thanks and hoped for many opportunities to cooperate with Bac Giang province in various fields.
The survey showed that Bac Giang has a convenient transportation network, close to the airport, border gate and the capital Hanoi. Also, the province has many advantages to develop the semiconductor industry and logistics center.
Promoting research activities, application of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation will create leverage for the province to further develop.

At the meeting, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperating in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation development; increasing investment and improving infrastructure for science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; developing and promoting high-quality human resources and talents to meet requirements.
The memorandum of understanding takes effect from the date of signing until December 31, 2030.
The State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) and Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on March 12 agreed to cooperate in safeguarding the integrity and stability of the countries’ capital markets, while fostering their connectivity.
The Central Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation held its second meeting in Hanoi on March 4 under the chair of Party General Secretary To Lam.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that institutional obstacles need to be removed in order to drive the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation in the spirit of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province Mai Son said the province will focus on accelerating the development of e-administration and digital administration to improve operational efficiency and better serve the people and businesses.
Party General Secretary To Lam underlined the need to give priority and encouragement to the advancement of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
The province seeks to enhance business capacity for innovation and technology mastery, focusing on developing high-tech and core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution with high applicability.
