Bac Giang strives to be one of top 10 leading localities in digital transformation by 2030.
BAC GIANG – The Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Plan on making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
The plan aims to organize and fully implement the viewpoints, goals, tasks and solutions set out in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo and Resolution No. 03/NQ-CP dated January 9, 2025 of the Government on making breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

By 2030, Bac Giang strives to become a modern industrial province, among the top 10 provinces and cities nationwide in digital transformation and maintain its position in the top 10 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of provincial innovation index (PII index).
To achieve the goal, the Plan focuses on a number of key tasks such as raising awareness, making breakthroughs in innovative thinking, determining strong political determination, resolutely leading and directing, creating new momentum, and new spirit in the whole society for the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation.
Besides, the province will increase investment, perfect infrastructure for science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation while develop and promote high-quality human resources and talents to meet the requirements of science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.
Besides, the plan targets to promote digital transformation apply science and technology and innovate in the activities of agencies in the political system; improve governance efficiency, effectiveness of state management in all fields, ensure national defense and security.
Also, it aims to strongly develop science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation in enterprises; enhance the development of digital society, develop a positive and healthy digital culture and preserve national identity.
The province must ensure network safety and security; strengthen the security of local important information systems; deploy technical solutions to improve the ability to backup, restore and ensure information security at the highest level for key information systems, digital platforms and digital infrastructure of the province.
As of late 2024, Vietnam had 73,788 digital technology enterprises, marking a 10.1% increase from the same period in 2023. Nearly 1.26 million workers are employed in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector.
Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Economy and Society Prasert Jantararuangtong said that participants at the 5th ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN) have agreed that online fraud and call centre gangs are urgent issues that require a collective effort to address.

Entering 2025, Vietnam is gearing up to accomplish important goals in its digital transformation journey for economic development. Vietnam ranked 71st in the UN's e-government survey, up 15 spots from 2022. Fiber optic internet use surpassed 82%, and 87% of the population used smartphones. A major milestone was Viettel's launch of the largest data center. These developments lay a solid foundation for Vietnam's ongoing digital journey.
