Digital technology supports to promote beauty of homeland

BAC GIANG - Grasping the current development trend, Le Quang Dung (born in 1991), Director of BaGia Herbe Agricultural Cooperative in Phuong Son Ward (Chu Township of Bac Giang province) has actively applied digital technology to improve production and business efficiency, helping promote agricultural products, cultural identity and homeland landscapes.

Recently, Tiktok channel "Dung Luc Ngan" has become viral among the internet users for his video introducing the brown rice ginseng flower tea product.

Le Quang Dung participates in trade promotion to introduce the cooperative's products.

In about 2 minutes, the author took viewers to visit the ginseng flower garden of a household in the Danh mountain area (Tan Yen district) and talked with the garden owner about how to take care of the plant, to use this medicinal herb, to collect the flowers to dry and combine with brown rice, black beans, red beans... to create a sweet and fragrant tea that is good for health.

The simple introduction and realistic images impressed and delighted viewers. Through the video, many customers have contacted to learn more about and buy the products.

After graduating from high school, Dung stayed home to do farming, mainly taking care of and harvesting his family's lychees. The harvest season does not last long, selling fresh lychees is only for a short time, so in recent years, Dung has dried the fruit to sell year-round. Also, he has processed and consumed other fruits and herbs locally.

Realizing that his family and local gardeners have consumed agricultural products only through direct sales for long time with disadvantages of limited quantities, and dependence on a few traders, he decided to exploit and take advantage of Tiktok, Facebook and other social networking platforms to promote the products.

In early 2023, he established BaGia Herbe Agricultural Cooperative with 7 members specializing in purchasing agricultural products and herbs inside and outside the district for processing, packaging and consumption through modern sales channels.

Up to now, some products of the Cooperative such as brown rice ginseng flower tea, Solanum procumbens tea and typical sweet fruits of the district have been introduced and widely distributed through e-commerce platforms such as Shopee, website; Tiktok and Facebook platforms.

At the same time, Dung actively seeks cooperation opportunities, participates in trade promotion events, and gradually brings products to supermarkets.

Recently, the Cooperative has signed contracts with 2 large supermarkets in Hanoi to consume thousands of products each month. The unit's activities create jobs for dozens of local workers.

Many households growing medicinal herbs and fruit trees in the district have their output purchased by the Cooperative, so they are confident in expanding their growing area.

Dung said ensuring the product quality is the key factor to gain customers’ trust. Through his videos, people can witness the raw material growing areas, the production stages and processes as well as the packaging to produce quality products, ensuring food safety.

In addition to the products of the cooperative, Dung also made many videos introducing typical products of some localities in the province such as rice noodles, lychees and cantaloupe in Chu township of Luc Ngan district; Lien Chung grilled pork rolls (Tan Yen district), thereby bringing economic benefits, contributing to raising the brand of Bac Giang agricultural products in the domestic market.

Up to now, Dung has made hundreds of videos and posted on digital platforms. In his videos, his hometown Bac Giang appears beautiful with hills of bright red lychees, gardens of pure white ginseng flowers, gardens of golden melons or lakes and clear streams.

Thanks to the advantages of information technology, the landscapes, cultural identities and typical agricultural products of each rural area in the province become popular among numerous people.

The videos become attractive because of the authentic images such as taking care of and harvesting lychees, Danh mountain ginseng flowers; catching bee pupae in the forest; visiting melon gardens which not only make viewers want to enjoy the products but also wish to go to the lands with such farm produce to explore and experience.

"For me, creating each video is not simply for business purposes but it also tells stories about the people and my hometown. Besides promoting and consuming local agricultural products, I want to spread the beautiful images and unique features of my hometown to more people," Dung shared.
