Trade centres, supermarkets, and convenience stores were urged to expand their procurement networks and prioritise the distribution of lychees through their retail systems to deliver the freshest products to consumers.
Wholesale and traditional markets across the country were asked to step up their purchasing efforts in collaboration with orchard owners, cooperatives, and production businesses to ensure a stable supply and facilitate farmers’ sales.
Logistics and express delivery providers were called upon to develop preservation solutions and work with distribution centres, trading companies, wholesalers, and retailers both domestically and internationally to establish dedicated logistics and delivery chains for lychee and other agricultural products.
The aim is to offer reasonable costs and shorten delivery times so that fresh lychees reach consumers every day.
At the event, many participants noted that despite a high fruit-setting rate this year, the biggest concern is a lack of irrigation water. To address this, the agricultural sector is focusing on guiding proper care techniques, strictly controlling agricultural inputs, managing planting area codes, and forecasting pest and disease outbreaks.
