Pho Hien Folk Culture Festival opens
The 2025 Pho Hien Folk Culture Festival opened in Hung Yen City, Hung Yen Province, on the evening of February 17, with the participation of a large number of people of Hung Yen Province and tourists from all over the world.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Kha Phuc, Chairman of Hung Yen City People's Committee, affirmed that Pho Hien Folk Culture Festival has been held annually or many years, awaited by a large number of people and tourists from both at home and abroad, because of the joyful and bustling festival atmosphere bearing the unique brand of Pho Hien and the unique architectural landscape space, spiritual cultural values, and unique culinary culture, imbued with the characteristics of the Red River rice region.

Coming to the Pho Hien Folk Culture Festival this year, people and tourists will be able to visit the cultural space imbued with spiritual and historical values about the origin of Pho Hien land, enjoy the sophistication and richness of art forms bearing the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people in general and the Red River Delta region in particular.
Pho Hien National Special Relic Site has many relics that are still preserved, retaining all the originality from architectural art to historical values that fully represent the dynasties from Dinh, Ly, Tran, Hau Le (Later Le), and Nguyen, such as May Temple (Dinh Dynasty), Hien Pagoda (Ly Dynasty), Tan La Temple, Kim Dang Temple (Le Dynasty), Thien Hau Temple (Hau Le Dynasty), Tran Temple, and Mau Temple (Nguyen Dynasty).
Hung Yen City has preserved, passed down and organised more than 40 traditional folk festivals that take place annually at the relics. The density of relics associated with spirituality and beliefs has created a unique cultural identity for Hung Yen City.
Notably, within the boundaries of Hung Yen City, each ancient religious and belief structure contains its own historical story.
This creates unique features for each festival, contributing to the cultural space of Hung Yen City, which is both diverse and extremely unique, creating a flow of spiritual cultural history while inheriting and promoting the traditional morality, remembering the merits of our ancestors and showing gratitude for their virtues.
