The festival is a practical activity in implementation of the UNESCO’s 2003 Convention for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage. It is also a good opportunity for practitioners (artisans, mediums and vocalists) to meet, exchange and learn experience, thereby contributing to preserving and promoting good values of the cultural heritage in modern life.
The festival draws crowds. |
At the festival, each medium performed 2 or 3 hau dong (spirit mediumship) performances when they had to prepare traditional costumes and instruments for themselves to practice the heritage rituals. The time limit for each performance was 45 minutes.
Besides, the Organising Board arranged a cung van (vocalist) and hau dang (assistant) team to support the festival. The vocalists sang ancient and traditional ritual songs.
