Updated: 20:21, 12/02/2025

On February 11, the Tan Vien Son Thanh (Tan Vien Mountain Saint) Festival opened at Ha (Lower) Temple in Minh Quang Commune in Hanoi’s outlying district of Ba Vi.

The annual festival commemorates Tan Vien Son Thanh, one of the four immortals in traditional Vietnamese mythology.

It included a water procession, drum performances, incense offering ceremonies, folk games, and sporting events.

On February 10, the Tran Temple Festival kicked off at the national historical complex of the Tran King's shrines and tombs in Hung Ha District, Thai Binh Province.

The traditional event is held annually from the 13th to the 18th day of the first lunar month to honour the Tran Dynasty (1225-1440).

It began with an incense-offering rite at the kings' tombs and a ritual for the opening of the gates of Den Thanh (Thanh Temple), Den Mau (Mother Temple) and the Tran Kings' shrines.

It also featured a water procession, arts performances, and various folk games.

The Con Son-Kiep Bac Spring Festival is taking place at Con Son-Kiep Bac special national relic site in Chi Linh City, in the northern province of Hai Duong, from February 11 to 20.

The festival featured a ceremony to commemorate the death anniversary of Huyen Quang - the third progenitor of the Truc Lam Zen Buddhism sect, an incense offering in Con Son Pagoda, a water procession ceremony, and a worship offering ceremony on Ngu Nhac Mountain.

Festival goers can also take part in assorted folk games and cultural and tourism activities.
