More than 200 athletes participate in Open Cycling Race themed “Journey in the footsteps of King Monk"
BAC GIANG - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on February 12 coordinated with units and localities in Bac Giang province to organize the Open Cycling Race themed "Journey in the Footsteps of the King Monk Tran Nhan Tong" (the Race) at the provincial Gymnasium in the Southern Urban area in Dinh Ke ward of Bac Giang city.
The Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son attended the opening ceremony and announced the starting signal for the men's events of all age groups.

This was a large-scale cycling race first ever launched by Bac Giang province among various activities within Bac Giang Culture - Tourism Week in 2025, attracting more than 200 male and female athletes from 14 cycling clubs inside and outside the province.
They compete in 4 categories: Women’s age group of 18-60; men’s age groups of 18-34; 35-45; 46-62.
The male athletes started from the Provincial Gymnasium, followed Provincial Road 293 through Bac Giang City and the districts of Luc Nam, Luc Ngan, Son Dong then finished at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual – Ecotourism complex (Son Dong) with a distance of 70 km.
The female athletes started from Kham Lang intersection (Luc Nam), went through Luc Ngan district and finished at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecotourism complex with a distance of 50 km.
Finishing the above mentioned categories, the Organizing Committee awarded 4 sets of prizes in the competition. Each set of prizes included 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes.
In which, in the men's category, the first prizes belonged to the athletes Le Ba in Dong Tru Cycling Club (age group 18-34); Tran Van Hieu in Co Phap Cycling Club from Bac Ninh province (age group 35-45); Nguyen Van Sang in Hanoi Sports Cycling Club (age group 46-62).
In the women's category (age group 18-60), athlete Le Thanh Huong in Cat Viet Thai Sports Cycling Club won the first prize.
The race contributes to promoting the image of the land, people, typical and unique cultural heritage values of the province as well as spreads the movement of physical exercise among all classes of people.
