Locating Bac Giang on integration map

BAC GIANG - In recent times, Bac Giang province has actively exploited the advantages of free trade agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed and achieved many outstanding results. 

Determining that international economic integration will bring opportunities to attract foreign investment, positively impacting the development of trade and services, Bac Giang attaches special importance to international economic integration policies.

According to the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, the province prioritizes calling for and attracting investment to develop 29 industrial parks with an area of ​​7,000 hectares.

To date, the province has 16 industrial parks established with an area of ​​nearly 3,600 hectares. Of which, 8 industrial parks are in operation with a total area of ​​over 2,200 hectares.

Thanks to proactive solutions to exploit international economic integration, Bac Giang province has always been at the top of the country in attracting FDI since 2020. To date, over 30 countries and territories have invested in projects in the province. In addition, the province's key industrial products are present in FTA markets of which Vietnam is a member.

At the same time, the province well conducts planning task for general service areas, dry ports, logistics; national-level tourist areas, golf course complexes and resorts.

For Bac Giang, the FTA Index is a useful tool for locality to objectively assess and measure the results of implementing FTAs ​​in the area, thereby, helping local state management agencies review, adjust or issue appropriate, transparent, feasible and effective policies to effectively exploit FTAs. On that basis, Bac Giang will be able to locate where the locality is on the national international economic integration map.

The application of the FTA Index also helps Bac Giang better understand the opportunities and challenges in taking advantage of FTAs, develop appropriate strategies for economic development, increase exports and attract investment as well as issues long-term strategy to effectively exploit FTAs.

At the same time, agencies, units and localities promote the application of information technology in management and operation towards building e-government; reforming administrative procedures related to investment, finance, tax, import and export and land among others; continue to be open, transparent and receive opinions and feedback to create convenience for people and businesses.

Many business support activities have been implemented to contribute to improving the investment and business environment such as: Provincial leaders periodically hold dialogues and meet with businesses; establish a working group to support businesses; innovate investment promotion.

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, thanks to proactive solutions to exploit international economic integration, the province has always been at the top of the country in attracting FDI since 2020.

Up to now, over 30 countries and territories have invested in projects in the province. Of which, China is the largest investor in the province, followed by South Korea, Singapore, Japan, etc. In addition, the province's key industrial products are present in FTA markets of which Vietnam is a member.
