The province has total 700 hectares of pineapple, mainly in the communes of Huong Son and My Thai (Lang Giang district), Bao Son and Tam Di (Luc Nam district). 300 hectares of which are in harvest time.

Lang Giang district has about 300 hectares of pineapple. Huong Son commune is the largest pineapple orchard with nearly 200 hectares, a half of which are bearing fruit.

Thanks to application of science advances into production, suitable soil conditions and favourable climate, the average output in this crop ranges from 35 to 40 tonnes per hectare while it is possible to reach up to 50 tonnes per hectare in intensive cultivation areas.

The price right at the garden is 12,000 VND (0.46 USD) per kilo (3,000 VND higher than the same period in 2024).

Tran Van Tuyen’s household in Kep 11 village, Huong Son commune is a big pineapple grower (with more than 2 hectares). Tuyen has harvested nearly 100 tonnes of pineapple this crop (similar to previous years). The products are sold out as soon as they are harvested.

170 out of 390 hectares of pineapple in Luc Nam district are in harvest, which is estimated to reach an output of more than 6,000 tonnes.

At an average price of 12,000 VND (0.46 USD) per kilo, farmers can earn a profit from 250 to 300 million VND (9,586 to 11,503 USD) for each hectare.

Pineapple is a key plant of some communes in Lang Giang and Luc Nam districts. Following the instructions of local authorities and relevant sectors, farmers will continue to maintain and expand the pineapple cultivation area, proactively apply technological advances in production and focus on processing to enhance the product value.
