To be granted a growing area code, lychee orchards must meet criteria including production according to VietGAP or GlobalGAP standards; maintaining production logs and having a minimum area of 10 hectares.
It helps open up opportunities for lychee exports to high-end markets, enhance brand value and increase local farmers’ income. This is also an important step in the strategy to bring Bac Giang lychee further into international markets.
Currently, the certified lychee areas are growing well with a high fruit bearing rate, promising a bumper harvest.
