Updated: 18:35, 26/11/2024

BAC GIANG - The infrastructure and warehouse project of the Bac Giang International Logistics Center (Logistics project) has been restarted and accelerated. When put into operation, the project is expected to become a regional freight transit center, helping promote international trade exchange.

On September 23, 2016, the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy for the Logistics project.

The construction progress is accelerated.

It is implemented in Song Khe Commune (Bac Giang City) with a scale of more than 66 hectares and a total investment capital of more than 4.1 trillion VND (172.2 million USD). The investor is Bac Giang International Logistics Company Limited.

The project aims to build a modern, multifunctional center, form an important link in the supply chain connecting economic corridors to serve international trade exchange.

According to the representative of Bac Giang International Logistics Company Limited, the company strives to start operating the first subdivision with an area of 5 hectares, including bonded warehouses, express delivery warehouses and agricultural product warehouses in December 2024.

Phase 2 with an area of 35 hectares including e-commerce warehouses, bonded warehouses, retail delivery warehouses and others will be put into operation by the end of 2025 while Phase 3 will be completed before June 30, 2027.

The company will build it into a transnational logistics center with a multifunctional international standard warehouse system, including customs control warehouse, duty-free warehouse, air cargo warehouse, refrigerated warehouse, e-commerce warehouse, smart warehouse and agricultural product processing area among others.

The special feature is that this logistics center has a service to deliver goods directly from here to factories and businesses in China and vice versa thanks to the coordination in service implementation between related units.

In addition, cross-chains for e-commerce and modern agricultural import and export products are also formed, promoting the cross-border e-commerce model. When using services here, businesses save a lot of time and costs with the "one-stop" model.

To build Bac Giang into an industrial - urban - service center, Bac Giang province has focused on developing logistics infrastructure, especially traffic infrastructure, promoting the circulation of goods, strengthening regional connectivity and opening up new development space.

Bac Giang has been closely coordinating with 6 neighboring provinces and cities (Hanoi capital and the provinces of Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen) to invest in many important inter-provincial connecting routes; develop the road traffic network linking with the national traffic network so as to ensure connectivity and continuous transition between the internal traffic system and the external traffic system and facilitate Bac Giang to conveniently connect with major economic and urban centers in the region.

Up to now, the traffic infrastructure has had a clear change, creating conditions to promote the development of logistics services and multimodal transport activities.

According to Nguyen Van Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, along with urging the acceleration of the infrastructure and warehouse projects of the Bac Giang International Logistics Center, in the coming time, Bac Giang will promote administrative reform, improve the investment and business environment, encourage and promote economic sectors to participate in logistics services.

Also, the province enhances the role of associations and competitiveness for logistics service enterprises, accelerates to form modern supply chains and develop diverse services.
