Turning Bac Giang into key regional logistics hub
BAC GIANG - Logistics is a service industry that plays a crucial role in supporting and connecting the processes of production, import-export, distribution, and consumption, generating added value and increasingly contributing to socio-economic development.
Recognizing the importance of this sector, Bac Giang province has made plans and prioritized resources to establish itself as an important logistics hub in the region.

The master plan of Bac Giang province during the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, aims to make Bac Giang a gateway and a hub for goods transit, transport, warehousing, logistics, and trade in the region.
Based on this, the province has made efforts to attract investment in logistics development.
Key logistics development areas are concentrated in Bac Giang city, Viet Yen township, and the districts of Yen Dung, Lang Giang, and Hiep Hoa, all located near major transportation routes, such as the Hanoi-Lang Son expressway, the Hanoi-Thai Nguyen railway, waterways along the Thuong and Cau Rivers, and national highways running through the province.
To facilitate logistics service development, the province is building and upgrading synchronous transportation infrastructure, including highways, provincial roads, and national highways, to enhance the ease of goods transport.
As a result, Bac Giang has begun attracting several logistics service investors. To date, the provincial People's Committee has approved four logistics investment projects outside industrial parks with a total registered capital of over 4 trillion VND (162.73 million USD).
The management board of the provincial industrial parks has issued investment registration certificates for two foreign-invested projects in warehouse and office rental and goods storage - part of the logistics service sector, with a total registered capital of 110.9 million USD.
Specifically, the Bac Giang Logistics Centre 1 project by Bac Giang Logistics Park 1 (Vietnam) Co., Ltd in the Hoa Phu industrial park has a registered investment of nearly 54 million USD and spans an area of 16.2 hectares.
The 16.2-hectare Bac Giang Logistics Centre 2 project by Bac Giang Logistics Park 1 (Vietnam) Co., Ltd with a registered investment of nearly 57 million USD is also under construction at the Hoa Phu industrial park.
Additionally, the Bac Giang provincial Post Office is developing the Bac Giang provincial Post Transportation Center in Liem Xuyen village, Song Khe commune, Bac Giang city.

The provincial People's Committee has approved detailed construction plans (1:500 scale) for two projects: the Sen Ho deport, mixed-use logistics service and trade, and port urban area complex in Nenh, Hong Thai, and Quang Minh wards; and a logistics center in Ninh Son ward, Tien Son commune (both in Viet Yen township).
Alongside these projects, the Bac Giang City International Logistics Center infrastructure and warehouse project is currently underway.
With advantages from its location along the Lang Son - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic corridor, National Highway 1 running through, and its “dual gateway” position, Bac Giang has the potential to strongly develop logistics services and is included in the national logistics service development plan.
To leverage these advantages, Bac Giang province needs to attract investment and create conditions to promote the growth of this sector in the near future.
