Bac Giang industrial parks well maintain production after storms and floods

BAC GIANG – In recent days, despite being affected by storm No. 3 and heavy rain, production activities in industrial parks (IPs) in Bac Giang province have been operating normally thanks to proactive response and effort to overcome the arising difficulties.

The heavy rain following storm No. 3 caused some roads in Quang Chau and Van Trung IPs in Viet Yen township to be partially flooded. After a short time, pumping stations in the township promptly pumped water into the Cau River.

According to the provincial IPs Management Board, storm No. 3 did not disrupt production and business of enterprises in IPs throughout the province as well as the movement of workers.

The Cau River flows through Viet Yen township - a key industrial area, so the provincial and local authority have paid due attention to the flood and storm prevention and control.

According to the Steering Board for Disaster Prevention and Control of Viet Yen township, in response to the rising water level of the Cau River, since the night of September 11, the locality has mobilized forces to build a 150m spillway on the left dike of Cau in Huu Nghi residential group of Ninh Son ward.

Hundreds of sandbags have been reserved at the culvert location across the Don Luong pumping station dike in Don Luong residential group on the right dike of Lai Nghien through Bich Dong ward to prevent spillage.

On the morning of September 11, more than 200 officers and soldiers of the 409th Armored Brigade (Military Region 1) and Battalion 16 of Division 325 participated in building a dike to prevent overflow on the left dike of Cau Bridge in Dao Ngan residential group of Quang Chau ward.

In Nghia Trung commune, a sluice appeared on Doc Tien dike, a sluice gate leaked in Trung village but was resolved at 6:00 p.m. on September 11.

All risks of flooding are under control, the locality has prepared enough materials, forces and specialized machinery to handle any incident. Currently, production activities are going on normally, the Party committees, authorities and people are focusing on overcoming the storm aftermath.
