Provincial Party Chief urges to remove obstacles, stimulate investment in power projects
BAC GIANG –The provincial People’s Committee of Bac Giang province (PPC) had a working session with the Northern Power Corporation (NPC) and the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) on November 12 regarding power supply for socio-economic development of the province in 2025 and for the next period.
The province has seen a high increase in power demand in 2021-2023 period. Bac Giang is planned to have 29 industrial parks and 60 industrial clusters by 2030 when the base load is estimated at 1,350 MW and commercial electricity is estimated at 7.298 billion kWh in 2025, an average year-on-year increase of 12.3 percent.

The base load in Bac Giang province is forecast to increase in coming time especially in industrial parks and clusters, thus, it is urgent to invest in improving the electricity grid to ensure power supply. There are 15 ongoing big power projects in the province including one 500kV, six 220kV and eight 110kV power grid projects.
At the meeting, representatives of NPC and EVNNPT raised some obstacles in implementing the projects and requested for collaboration and support from the related provincial departments and agencies.
In his concluding speech, the provincial Party Chief Nguyen Van Gau affirmed the important role of electricity for socio-economic development of the province. The power grid system in the province has been in effective operation with stable power supply. Besides, NPC, EVNNPT and investors of Tan Hung and Yen Lu industrial parks are running 24 projects in Bac Giang to enhance the power supply.
He added, several large-scale investment projects will come into operation in the province in coming time causing high increase in power demand. Bac Giang province expected NPC, EVNNPT and their subsidiaries to pay attention to directing the management board of the projects and Bac Giang Electricity Company to take more initiative in collaboration with related departments, agencies and localities of Bac Giang province to implement the power projects on schedule and in accordance with regulations while regularly inspecting, accelerating and resolving obstacles facing the power projects.
Besides, they were urged to work with investors of industrial parks and clusters to implement retail grid infrastructure investment in industrial parks and clusters conforming to legal regulations. He also requested to reinforce resources to accelerate progress of the power projects after getting investment policy approval.
In addition, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee directed people’s committee of the districts, town and city in the province to highly concentrate on planning, adjustment to the master plan and land clearance to meet the schedule because slow investment in power infrastructure will slacken the pace of local socio-economic development.
