Bac Giang sees favorable sale of pigs and poultry, with stable prices

(BGO) - Over the past week, the Sub-Department of Livestock and Animal Health in Bac Giang province has conducted animal quarantine on 173 vehicles transporting poultry, with an average of 500 heads per vehicle, an increase of 74.7 percent compared to the previous week.
They including 47 vehicles carrying Yen The hill chickens and 23 others transporting animal products, equivalent to 114.6 percent and 255.6 percent of the previous week’s figures, respectively.

In addition, the price of live chicken was as stable as that after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, ranging from 52,000-65,000 VND (2.2-2.8 USD) per kg. Meanwhile, the price of live pigs ranged from 72,000-78,000 VND (3.1-3.4 USD) per kg, similar to that before Tet. Therefore, farmers earned high profits.
In 2021, Bac Giang aims to increase the total herd of pigs to 1.2 million and maintain the total fowls at 18.4 million, including 16 million chickens.
