Bac Giang: Total retail sales of goods and services up 0.6 percent in 2020

BGO - According to the report of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, in December 2020, the total retail sales of goods and services in the province were estimated at 3.059 trillion VND (132.5 million USD), up 3.7 percent over the previous month. The figure for the whole year 2020 was projected at 29.58 trillion VND (1.28 billion USD), up 0.6 percent year-on-year.

Of which, the total retail sales of goods were estimated at 26.86 trillion VND, up 1.9 percent over the same period last year, while service revenue was 2.72 trillion VND, rising by 89.6 percent.

The province’s consumer price index in December decreased by 0.01 percent as compared to the previous month but increased by 3.41 percent year-on-year.

The total retail sales of goods and services in Bac Giang increased by 0.6 percent in 2020. 

It is forecast that next month, due to the impact of epidemics and natural disasters, the market and transport and service sectors will continue to be affected. Prices of petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), gold and US dollar will continue to fluctuate according to the developments of the world market. In addition, the demand for food and essential goods will increase in the run-up to the 2021 Lunar New Year (Tet).

In order to stabilize the market, in the coming time, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade will continue to keep a close watch on the market situation and prices to promptly propose to the provincial People's Committee and the Ministry of Industry and Trade solutions to stabilize market prices.

At the same time, it will coordinate with competent agencies to strengthen inspection and control in order to promptly detect and handle violations by organizations and individuals in accordance with law.

The department will also continue to implement solutions to ensure supply-demand balance and stabilize the local market at the end of 2020 and on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021.

It will work with other departments and agencies in the province to continue solving difficulties for and supporting businesses in production and business activities.
