“Does the factory offer extra shifts? What about insurance payment?”, a viewer commented.

“Our basic salary has been increased to 5.1 million VND since March 1, higher than the minimum wage with allowances ranging from 1.3 million VND. The factories also offer extra shifts to ensure your income”, the young girl quickly replied from the livestream room at the headquarter of Luxshare - ICT company in Van Trung IP.

20 seconds later, Thuong immediately added “Please come to submit your application at gate A1 in Van Trung IP from Monday to Saturday. No recruitment fee is required” before moving to another comment.

Thuong is an employee of the company’s human resources (HR) department who has been trained to take part in livestreaming for worker recruitment, a new method applied by Luxshare-ICT since early March to hunt for thousands of workers.

Recovery of enterprises with more orders since late 2023 in line with expansion of production posing a big demand for labour in electronic enterprises in northern province of Bac Giang, about 100,000 workers this year. Seeking thousands of workers monthly has become a burden for HR departments of the companies.

As the labour supply sources in Bac Giang province only meet about 25 percent of the demand while the other sources come from other localities, the businesses must change their labour seeking methods instead of the traditional channel.

“Livestreaming is a new method applied based on the company’s study about Vietnamese people’s habits for social networks such as TikTok and Facebook especially young people and students. TikTok is quite popular in China gaining high efficiency”, explained Do Quan, Director of the HR Department of Luxshare-ICT Company in Van Trung IP.
