Deputy PM attends inauguration ceremony of Hana Micron Vina factory 2 in Bac Giang

BAC GIANG - On September 16, Korean Hana Micron Vina  Company Limited headquartered in Van Trung Industrial Park, Viet Yen district (Bac Giang province) held a ceremony to inaugurate Hana Micron Vina  factory 2 project.

The event was attended by members of the Party Central Committee: Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister; Duong Van Thai, Secretary of the Bac Giang provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation; Le Anh Duong, Chairman of the Bac Giang provincial People's Committee.

At the ceremony, President of Hana Micron Group Choi Chang Ho said since the beginning, Hana Micron Company has targeted to be a global enterprise specializing in packaging and testing semiconductors.

The enterprise has successfully achieved good results in the Vietnamese market thanks to constant effort to overcome difficulties and strategic cooperation with leading domestic and international semiconductor enterprises.

Investing in the project on a total scale of 66,000 square meters, the company complete and put factory 1 into production in 2022. On September 16, 2023, Hana Micron Vina Company inaugurated and put into operation factory 2.

By 2025, the company plans to increase total investment to more than 1 billion USD to gain expected revenue of 800 million USD and create jobs for about 4,000 workers.

Hana Micron Vina in Vietnam is the leading production facility in Hana Micron's global business operations. 70 percent of total human resources will be locals. As schedule, this year the company's revenue is expected to reach 300 million USD.

Speaking to congratulate the business, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Le Anh Duong informed that Bac Giang is a locality with a very open economy as an attractive and reliable investment destination for many foreign direct investors (FDI).

Of these, with 345 projects, Korea is the country ranked first in number of projects and second in total registered investment capital in Bac Giang province.

Hana Micron Vina Company is one of the Korean businesses that has trusted and chosen to invest in Bac Giang province.

Bac Giang Province determined that the above project is important. This is the first semiconductor manufacturing project in the North of Vietnam. The effective implementation of the project will be the foundation for the development orientation of the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in Bac Giang province in particular and in the North in general.

At the same time, it is an opportunity for Bac Giang province to attract more high-tech projects in the coming time. To accompany Hana Micro Vina, the People's Committee of Bac Giang province has established a specialized working group to support the company during the project implementation process so as to ensure a smooth execution.
