Exhibition honours sea and island cultural heritage

An exhibition on Vietnam’s sea and island cultural heritages will take place in Phan Thiet City, Binh Thuan Province, from August 27 to September 3.

The exhibition will introduce, promote, and honour tangible and intangible cultural heritage values and unique tourism products of Vietnam's seas and islands.

This is an activity organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province, and the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture and Arts in collaboration with the People's Committees of Hai Phong, Bac Giang, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Kien Giang, Tien Giang, Tra Vinh, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, and Ca Mau.

The exhibition is within the framework of the National Tourism Year 2023.

With the theme of Vietnam's sea and island cultural heritage, the exhibition introduces 270 images and artifacts about Vietnam's seas and islands, including four main contents: documents and artifacts about the history of Vietnam’s sea and island culture; building and protecting Vietnam’s sovereignty over seas and islands; art photos of Vietnam’s seas and islands; and Vietnamese youth with Vietnam’s seas and islands.

In addition, the cultural heritages, seas, and islands of 22 provinces and cities across the country will be displayed at the event.

The exhibition is an activity to promote sea and island cultural heritage, promote tourism development, and contribute to raising the community's awareness to join hands in protecting the marine environment and sovereignty of Vietnam’s seas and islands.
