Featured boat race festival of Tieu Mai village
BAC GIANG- Tieu Mai village in Mai Dinh commune, Hiep Hoa district, the northern province of Bac Giang organized boi chai (boat race) festival during 3 days of 18,19 and 20 April drawing participation of 9 racing teams (including 3 elderly teams performing worship boating and 6 boat racing teams divided into 2 groups. Each hamlet has 2 teams and each boat has 27 persons.

The northern port city of Hai Phong on May 11 organised a ceremony to open the 11th Red Flamboyant Festival and receive the UNESCO certificate of recognisation for the Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago as the World Natural Heritage Site - the first inter-provincial heritage of Vietnam.
