"Don't drink and drive"
During the inspection drive by the Ministry of Public Security, information about the handling of alcohol concentration violators was continuously posted, including violations by a number of officials and civil servants, showing authorities’ determination to handle violations in this field.
The Divisions of Internal Affairs of districts and Bac Giang city are coordinating to review violation cases and if there are punishment decisions by the police force, they will be used as a basis to take steps to consider disciplinary measures against violating officers and civil servants and classify them at the end of the year.
During this campaign, the 36-strong working group of the Ministry of Public Security coordinated with hundreds of officers and soldiers from the province’s Traffic Police Department and police of 10 districts and city to inspect and handle violations.
With a large force fully equipped with support tools and means, the inspection drive has created a highlight in the process of handling alcohol concentration violations, with no prohibited areas and no exceptions.
Commenting on the peak period, Colonel Than Van Duy, Deputy Director of the provincial Police Agency and deputy head of the provincial Traffic Safety Committee, said if there is only one working group to handle violations in the area, it will be easier for commuters to inform each other to avoid it.
When they know that the police are standing at this place, they will go to branch roads or parallel routes, making inspection and handling difficult. The forces of the ministry and localities worked together to resolutely handle violations, gradually raising public awareness of complying with the law. They will not drive vehicles after drinking.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Diep added that after the ministry's inspection, the Traffic Police Department will advise the Director of the provincial Police Agency to develop plans and gather forces to strengthen the handling of alcohol concentration violations, contributing to spreading the message "Don’t drink and drive."
