PM orders to drastically prevent and control Covid-19 at villages, residential areas and households

(BGO) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc chaired an online meeting of permanent Government members and ministries, sectors and local administrations with 63 provinces and cities on Covid-19 prevention and control on August 2.  Bac Giang province was chaired by member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Bui Van Hai, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Van Thai.

According to the report from the Ministry of Health, as of August 2, Vietnam recorded 620 Covid-19 patients and 5 fatal cases serious underlying illnesses. The number of cases relating to the outbreak in Da Nang has reached 173 since July 25. The disease complicated development cause high risk to people’s health, life and huge impact on the national socio-economy.

Da Nang city has recently zoned off to isolate and spray disinfectant chemicals at 3 hospitals and several places with recorded community transmission. The localities review to list the people returning from the pandemic hotspot then put them in strict health monitor. The Ministry of Health assigned the officers and staff with rich experience and qualification at all fields to support Da Nang city.

Concluding the event, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc requested all ministries, sectors and local administrations to drastically isolate disease-hit areas and strictly impose social distancing to quickly stamp out any outbreaks in community, with the resolve to achieve the dual goals of controlling the epidemic while maintaining economic growth.

Any cases returning from Da Nang and Quang Nam since July 1, 2020 and other locations with high risk of cross infection in the urgent announcement of Ministry of Health should be promptly traced.

The PM ordered the Ministries of Public Security, National Defence and People’s Committee in the provinces and cities to enhance the management over the border areas, immigration task; prosecute all illegally immigrated cases, especially the organization which support the foreigners to enter Vietnam illegally.

Regarding the high school graduation exam, the PM urged the Ministry of Education and Training to ensure the safety for the examination region, base on the actual situation to instruct the localities to implement a safe examination programme. Also, he assigned the competent agencies to consult the Government to issue another Directive to replace Directive No.16 so as to suit to the current pandemic situation.

At Bac Giang point, the provincial Secretary Bui Van Hai requested all levels and sectors to seriously follow the PM’s instruction while pressing the districts and city to further review the cases returning from Da Nang to put in strict isolation to prevent community spread.

Taking lessons from the epicenter at the hospital, the provincial leader urged the Department of Health to continue instructing the public and non-public medical establishments to seriously conduct the screening procedure for infectious diseases to prevent the cross infection among the medical facilities.

Any crowed gathering should be limited and organized online with document information. The districts and city which have not organized the local Party Congress should request all representatives to follow all preventive measures such as body temperature monitor, face mask wearing and disinfectant when the event is held.

The competent agencies and localities should strictly control the immigration activities and the foreigners residing at the area. The Steering Board for Covid-19 prevention and control must supplement the suitable preventive measures to new disease development while keeping the quick meeting, effectively reporting and handling any arising issue to actively control the local disease situation.
