Son Dong district: Unique raft race on Khe Chao Lake
BAC GIANG – To mark the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the People's Committee of Long Son Commune on August 30 organized the 15th raft racing festival in 2024 at Khe Chao Lake, Long Son Commune (Son Dong district, Bac Giang province).
5 racing teams came from 5 villages of Long Son commune, each consisted of 5 athletes. The teams drew lots to choose the rival for a direct elimination match. The team that rows the raft to the other side of the lake, gets the flag and returns to the finish line first will compete in the next rounds.

The raft racing tradition was restored by Long Son commune in 2007 to recall the traditional lifestyle of the ancient lake residents who used bamboo varieties to make rafts for fishing and crossing rivers and streams.

The traditional raft racing festival of Long Son commune is held annually on the occasion of National Day, September 2.
Currently, Khe Chao Lake has received investment in a road system and bridge into the lake, helping it become an attractive tourist destination for many visitors.

On weekends, hundreds of visitors come to camp, swim in the clear blue water, take a boat tour on the lake, explore the primeval forest and enjoy delicious local dishes.

BAC GIANG – The 2024 National Youth and Junior Rod Pushing Championship wrapped up on 16 August after 8 days of exciting competition at the Bac Kan Provincial Gymnasium. The event was jointly held by Vietnam Sports Administration and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Kan province. The Bac Giang delegation excellently won the first overall ranking.
BAC GIANG - On August 12, at the Head quarter of Bac Giang Newspaper, Editor-in-Chief Trinh Van Anh, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 41st Bac Giang Newspaper Half Marathon themed “Convergence in the Sacred Land” organized the reception of sponsorship for the race from Hai An Bac Giang Hotel (Hai An Cooperative).
BAC GIANG- At the Head quarter of Bac Giang Newspaper, the Organizing Board of the 41st Bac Giang Newspaper Half Marathon themed “Convergence in the Sacred Land” held a ceremony on August 8 to launch Bib (running numbers), receive sponsor and announce press release on the tournament.
BAC GIANG - The Ministry of Education and Training on August 6 held the closing ceremony of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024 in Hai Phong City.
BAC GIANG - Within the framework of the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024, on the morning of August 5, the male football team of secondary school from Bac Giang province won the final match and the championship title.
