One of the cards, written in Braille, was sent to blind Vietnamese girls. One of them read it out loud as she traced the letters with her hands.

"Help me to send the warm Tet spirit to everyone," the card reads.

The two remaining cards were delivered to Xuan Bac – a Vietnamese actor and comedian – and Eytan Penn – an English specialist of the Regional English Language Office under the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, who is also teaching at Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

"Happy New Year! This year marks my 5th time celebrating Tet in Vietnam. Sending Tet cards to loved ones is a favorite tradition of mine, and I wanted to make sure everyone was included," the Facebook post reads.

Knapper started his term as ambassador to Vietnam from the beginning of 2022. He worked as a political counselor for the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam from 2004 to 2007.

In an interview in May last year, Knapper emphasized that his goal during his term as Ambassador is to deepen the friendship between the two countries, seek to further strengthen cooperation in many fields such as investment, trade, health, education, energy and digital transformation.
