The archaeological site covers an area of 600 square metres on a field located to the south of the temple in Ninh Binh Province’s Hoa Lu District, a former capital of Vietnam.

The excavation is being undertaken by the Ninh Binh Department of Culture and Sports and the Institute of Archaeology and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2021.

Once the results are announced, there will be more artefacts and materials to supplement the region’s historical and cultural values, helping tourists learn more about Vietnam’s former capital from the tenth century.
