Viet Yen township accelerates progress of key projects

BAC GIANG - Viet Yen township is implementing many key projects, many of which are expected to be completed this year, creating urban highlights, connecting regions, and promoting socio-economic development. Currently, the investors and contractors are focusing human resources to ensure construction progress.

Reasonable arrangement of human resources

In recent days, despite continuous rains, at the construction site of the stadium of the Viet Yen township cultural and sports complex project (phases 1, 2, 3), more than 50 workers of Thien An Investment Joint Stock Company – the contractor, have still been actively working.

Thanks to the reasonable arrangement of human resources, many items have been completed. Currently, the stadium project has finished 98% of the workload of phase 2, two months ahead of schedule, and is expected to be put into use in the fourth quarter of this year.

At the project to build the Viet Yen township Convention Center building, with the arrangement of workers under the motto "working outdoors in the sun, working indoors in the rain", Nguyen Manh Chuyen, a representative of Duc Anh Joint Stock Company said the unit removed the pre-assembled scaffolding to carry out the indoor structures and surrounding foundation, so the scaffolding had to be erected twice. This method cost more but helped complete the items without interruption. To date, 96% of the workload has been completed, ensuring the set schedule.

Together with the contractors, the supervisory unit and the investor have regularly sent staff to supervise and hasten construction. Engineer Nguyen Van An from Housing Construction Investment Consultancy JSC (the unit supervising the construction of the Viet Yen township Convention Center building) shared: "The company regularly appoints supervision teams to inspect the quality of input materials and equipment and installation process; and timely appraise and accept completed works so that the contractors can move to the next, ensuring the set schedule."

Coordinating in removing obstacles

Workers are asphalting the road from Co Deo to the northeast ring road of Bac Giang city, passing through Nghia Trung commune.

According to Viet Yen township’s construction investment project management unit (PMU), the locality is implementing dozens of construction projects. Among them, there are eight key projects invested by the locality, including the Viet Yen township cultural and sports complex project (phases 1, 2, 3); the Viet Yen township Political Center; the road from Co Deo (Nghia Trung commune) to the northeast ring road of Bac Giang city; and the Van Ha Secondary School, with a total capital of more than 1 trillion VND ($39.43 million). Many projects are expected to be completed this year.

Despite achieving many results, according to Do Van Hung, Director of the PMU, during the implementation process, some projects still face problems that need to be promptly resolved.

To ensure the progress of projects, Le Hoang Bach, Vice Chairman of the Viet Yen People's Committee, said that the committee has directed the PMU and the Finance - Planning Division to make plans on construction progress and detailed disbursement for each project by month and quarter; and coordinate with contractors to appraise and accept each phase of the projects to disburse capital after completion.

The township has required land clearance consulting units, the Center for Land Fund Development and industrial clusters to speed up the making of compensation and land clearance support plans for projects with problems. During the implementation process, in any difficulties or obstacles, the PMU, contractors and relevant forces need to coordinate closely together to complete projects ahead of schedule.
