Vietnam bags three golds at International Biology Olympiad
Vietnamese students have won three gold medals and one silver medal at the 2024 International Biology Olympiad (IBO) held in Kazakhstan from July 7-13.
Such achievements rank Vietnam third among the 81 countries and territories participating in this year’s contest.

The gold medallists are Dang Tuan Anh, a 12th grader from the Chu Van An High School in Hanoi, Nguyen Tien Loc, a 12th grader from the HUS High School for Gifted Students, and Nguyen Si Hieu, a 12th grader from the Tran Phu High School for Gifted Students in Hai Phong.
Ho Duc Trung, a 12th grader from the Quoc Hoc Hue High School for Gifted Students, won the silver medal.
The 2024 IBO was attended by 320 students from 81 countries and territories and awarded 28 gold medals, 56 silver medals and 84 bronze medals.
With all four students winning medals, including three golds, the 2024 IBO is the best achievement recorded by Vietnamese students since 2019.
