33 inventors win prizes at Bac Giang’s invention contest for youth and teenagers

BAC GIANG- The Organizing Board of the 20th invention contest for youth and teenagers of Bac Giang province in 2024 held a wrap-up and award ceremony on October 5 at FPT Bac Giang primary, secondary and high school. 

The 20th the invention contest for youth and teenagers of Bac Giang province in 2024 was hosted by the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations in collaboration with the provincial Youth Union, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Education and Training, Department of Finance, Bac Giang Newspaper and Bac Giang Voice and Television.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nghiem Xuan Huong and Director of Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations Nguyen Xuan Tien give certificate of merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee and first prizes to the outstanding inventors.

This year contest attracted 1,844 participating models at the grassroots level and 611 models of the youth and teenagers at district level. The organizing boards at district level nominated132 models to participate in the provincial-level contest.

After the provincial-level preliminary round, 66 models were selected to the finale, which are innovative, creative and applicable ones.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nghiem Xuan Huong gives certificate of merit by Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee to outstanding collectives in organizing the contest.

At the award ceremony, the Organizing Board rewarded 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 6 third prizes and 21 consolation prizes to outstanding inventors and groups of inventors.

The 2 first prizes came to the group of inventors from Bac Giang High School for the Gifted with the model “Safety system for jewelry shops” and the model “Miniproject Hello Vietnam” by Tran Chu Lai, a student of class 5A3, Le Loi primary school (Bac Giang city).

According to the Organizing Board, the communication of the contest has been well implemented under various forms. Particularly, the Organizing Board has collaborated with communication agencies to make many videos sharing experience in organizing and participating the contests from the grassroots level.

A number of activities such as the youth’s innovation days and STEM festivals were organized to evaluate and award the entries at district level.

The delegates visit some robot programming and operating platforms.

On this occasion, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee awarded certificate of merit to 2 outstanding collectives in organizing the contest, 5 inventors and co-inventors winning first prizes at the contest.

Besides, the Organizing Board rewarded 3 outstanding collectives and 3 individuals in organizing and communicating the contest.

Right after the award ceremony, the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations held the Invention Day with the contents such as experience sharing seminar and experiencing activity.
