Bac Giang and Quang Nam exchange experiences in implementing the national target program

BAC GIANG - On October 4, the working delegation of Quang Nam province led by Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) had a working session to exchange experiences with Bac Giang province on implementing the National Target Program (NTP)

The delegates were welcomed by Mai Son, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Bac Giang PPC, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the NTP in 2021-2025 period.

Bac Giang province has achieved many positive results in implementing the NTP for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, sustainable poverty reduction and new style rural building.

The rate of poor and near-poor households decreases sharply. In 2022, the poverty rate was 3.81 percent (17,946 households), lower than the national average. The province completed the goal to assist all households who contributed to the revolution to escape poverty.

PPC Vice Chairman Mai Son and leaders of departments, branches and localities shared some experiences in implementing the provincial NTP. In addition to documents specifying the mechanisms and policies of the Central Government in the locality according to regulations, the PPC Chairman issued Directives requiring departments, branches and localities to identify key tasks for implementation priority.

The province established a Steering Committee and issued an annual work plan. Every month, the standing agency is responsible for summarizing and reporting on implementation results as well as clearing stating difficulties and obstacles to focus on solving.

The leaders of the province, departments and branches are directly in charge of programs and areas to strengthen inspection and supervision of implementation at the grassroots level.

Regarding the fields under higher authority, the province proactively proposes the Central to soon issue guidance documents and remove problems. The program hosts actively organize training for grassroots officials.

Quang Nam PPC Vice Chairman Tran Anh Tuan thanked the leaders of Bac Giang province for welcoming the delegation. Bac Giang and Quang Nam have many similarities in the socio-economic situation and the NTP implementation tasks assigned by the Central.

During this business trip, Quang Nam province learned many valuable lessons and experiences from Bac Giang to remove bottlenecks in the disbursement of capital for NTP, mobilize resources to build new style rural areas and implement programs and projects to support vocational training and socio-economic development for ethnic minorities.

He hoped that in the coming time, the two provinces will further exchange and share experiences on implementing socio-economic development tasks in general and the NTP in particular toward mutual development.
