Accordingly, the research area is located in Kien Lao commune in the North West of Luc Ngan district. It is about 9.5km away from the district center, which borders to protective forest to the North, production forest land and residential area in Kien Lao commune to the South, protective forest to the West and production forest land to the East.

The research area covers about 873ha with estimated population of 12,812 people and 2,388 guests.
