These activities have attracted not only women but also many residents, as everyone recognizes that these actions serve their own interests and those of their families.

For instance, the Women’s Union of Dinh Tri commune collected over 2 tonnes of recyclable waste in the first six months of 2024, which has been exchanged for 800 packets of biological products for processing organic waste.

The Bac Giang city Women’s Union has intensified efforts to implement the project “Disseminating, advocating, and guiding women unionmembers to collect and sort waste properly in the 2021-2025 period,” linked to the “Green Sunday” and “Clean from Home to Alley, Clean from Alley to Home,”movements as well as the building of “Families with Five Haves and Three Cleans.”

All local women’s unions have encouraged members to sign commitments to discharge waste properly and actively participate in cleaning roads and alleys, along with sorting waste every Sunday. They have also mobilized resources to provide thousands of plastic bags, trash bins, bamboo brooms, and garbage collection carts to women members.

According to Trinh Thi Hong Van, Chairwoman of the Bac Giang city Women’s Union, in the future, the union will continue to focus on the project “Disseminating, advocating, and guiding women union members to collect and sort waste properly in the 2021-2025 period,” linking it to the “Green Sunday” movement and other initiatives led by women.

It will continue to raise funds from selling recyclablewaste to help women in difficult situations improve their living conditions. There will be a focus on promoting the criteria for building“Families with Five Haves, Three Cleans” and“Women’s Unions with Five Haves, Three Cleans”. Each local women’s union will stay proactive and creative in implementing and replicating models suited to their local conditions.
