Updated: 21:45, 06/10/2024

BAC GIANG - Hoang Dinh Que in Quynh Son village, Quynh Son commune, Yen Dung district (Bac Giang) has just been awarded the first prize in the 10th National "Technical Innovation for Farmers" Contest with the solution: "Waste management in pig farm in the direction of circular economy with high economic efficiency".

On October 3, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations to organize the award ceremony of the 10th "Technical Innovation for Farmers" Contest (2023 - 2024).

At the Contest, Hoang Dinh Que (born in 1970) - owner of a pig farm in Quynh Son village won the first national prize in the field of livestock and aquaculture production with the above mentioned solution.

His solution is to use gas from pig waste to run a generator. Accordingly, he improved two gas tanks covering an area of 3,000 square meters to provide enough gas to run the generator.

Hoang Dinh Que feeds pigs by using his mobile phone.

Previously, his family consumed 50-60 million VND of grid electricity per month (equivalent to 600-700 million VND per year). With a generator, Que takes advantage of the gas to save 25-30 million VND per month without worrying about power outages.

Next, he uses solid waste to raise earthworms. Large worms are used for livestock farming to reduce food sources while the earthworm manure is sold for cultivation. Each year, his family earns a profit of 400-450 million VND.

He not only sells earthworm manure to the market, but also uses it to fertilize his family's 5,000 square meter membrane houses and net houses for growing melons, cucumbers, and clean vegetables. It helps him earn an income of more than 1 billion VND per year.

Also, he uses pig wastewater, which meets standards after analysis, to water fruit trees and clean barns...

Therefore, Que's solution proves its practical meaning and can be widely applied in the province. It is coordinated and evaluated by the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture as a complete new model, an exemplary model of Bac Giang province and the Northern provinces.

In 2023, with this solution, Que participated in the Farmers' Technical Innovation Contest organized by the People's Committee of Bac Giang province and won the first prize.

He was recognized as "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer in 2021" and awarded the title "Outstanding Bac Giang Citizen" in 2022 by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Giang province.
