Bac Giang implements year of food safety in agriculture

The province aims to prevent and put an end to the trading and using of prohibited substances and the overuse of antibiotics in animal husbandry and aquaculture.
Training courses will be provided for the agriculture and rural development sector’s staff in charge of food safety while more than 30 percent of aquatic farming facilities and intensive aquatic farming areas will meet Vietnamese Good Agricultural Practice (VietGAP) standard. All concentrated slaughterhouses are expected to be granted food safety certificates.
To realise the goals, the chairman of the provincial People's Committee has asked the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with relevant agencies in supervising and hastening the plan implementation and making periodical reports to be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
