Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San to attend Bac Giang Newspaper Half Marathon 2024
BAC GIANG- The 2 top Vietnamese athletes Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San (from Bac Giang province) will attend the 41st Bac Giang Newspaper Half Marathon 2024, according to the Organizing Board.
Athlete Nguyen Thi Oanh was born in 1995 in My Ha commune, Lang Giang district and Pham Tien San was born in 1991 in Ngoc Thien commune, Tan Yen district. The talents of Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San were unearthed at Bac Giang Newspaper Run when they were students.

Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San have won several gold medals the national championships, sports festivals, SEA Games and many continental tournaments during their professional sport career. They are promising athletes of Vietnam’s track and field. Apart from professional tournaments, Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San participated in many prestigious national and international marathons and won high prizes.
Athletes Nguyen Thi Oanh and Pham Tien San registered to compete at 21km half marathon event on October 13.
After 40 tournaments, Bac Giang Newspaper Half Marathon has become a large-scale sport event attracting thousands of athletes. This tournament will be kicked off at 16.00 on October 12 at 3/2 square, Bac Giang city.
This year tournament boats many new features, particularly, it will be like a half marathon with the distances of 5km, 10km and 21km for athletes from nationwide while the short-distance running categories including 2km and 3km for secondary students and 2km, 3km, 4,5km and 6km races for runners from the districts, township and city will not be organized as previous years.
Especially, athletes competing at half marathon event will be provided chip to follow up their achievements and given finisher shirts.
To date, the tournament has attracted over 3,000 participants including 1,700 runners in collective races and 1,400 runners in half marathon event at the race distances of 5km, 10km and 21km.
BAC GIANG - After 7 days of exciting and fierce competition, the 2024 National Chinese Chess Team Championship wrapped up on September 25. Bac Giang delegation won 9 medals of various types. The tournament was jointly organized by the Vietnam Chess Federation and the Department of Culture and Sports of Da Nang.
BAC GIANG- The Organizing Board of the 41st Bac Giang Newspaper Half Marathon 2024 themed “Convergence in the Sacred Land” on September 24 had a meeting to review the preparation for the tournament. The meeting was hosted by Trinh Van Anh, Editor-in chief of Bac Giang Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Board.

BAC GIANG - On the morning of September 22, the star runner of Bac Giang province Nguyen Thi Oanh excellently won the championship title in women's full marathon of 42 km at the Techcombank HaNoi International Marathon 2024 in Hanoi.
BAC GIANG - On September 16, the 2024 National Jujitsu Championship wrapped up at Bac Giang Provincial Gymnasium with the final matches and closing ceremony. The tournament was jointly organized by the Vietnam Jujitsu Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang from September 10 to 16.
BAC GIANG – On the morning of September 12, the Vietnam Jujitsu Federation and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Giang organized the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Jujitsu Championship at the Provincial Gymnasium.
