Bac Giang, Japanese university sign deal on medical cooperation

Within the framework of the working trip, on the morning of February 21, Mai Son and the delegation visited the Shitennouji Hidenin Nursing Home for the Elderly in Osaka prefecture. Bac Giang province hopes to learn from this model and invite the Japanese side to invest in the province in the field of elderly health care.
The Bac Giang delegation was also received by President of the nursing home Kashima Yoichi.
The afternoon the same day, the delegation attended a ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan; and scientific exchange activities between Osaka Metropolitan University and Vietnamese universities. It awarded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in public health care signed between the People's Committee of Bac Giang province and Osaka Metropolitan University and discussed cooperation programmes in the future.
The deal is to promote activities to enhance the educational and academic role of the parties through information exchange in various areas for their common benefits; issues related to promoting education and human resources development (exchange of teachers, researchers and officials…); and issues regarding improving public health.
Previously, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka where Mai Son asked for their support for Bac Giang in implementing the MoU between the provincial People's Committee and Osaka Metropolitan University. He also proposed they help Bac Giang in exporting agricultural products to Japan and promoting investment of Japanese partners in the high-tech field in Bac Giang.
In particular, during the working sessions with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Osaka and the President of Osaka Metropolitan University, Mai Son suggested supporting Bac Giang in training human resources for semiconductor chip production. Bac Giang province is committed to creating the best conditions for enterprises to do business effectively and sustainably, he said.
The delegation also visited the Bac Giang fellow-countrymen association in Japan and met with Bac Giang people living and working here.
