Bac Giang expands online channels to facilitate agricultural product sales
BAC GIANG – In recent years, alongside the traditional distribution of goods and agricultural products in stores and markets, many businesses, cooperatives, households, and individuals in Bac Giang province have identified e-commerce platforms as an effective sales channel.
Actively bringing farm produce to online marketplaces
With busy schedules, many consumers have developed the habit of shopping on online marketplaces. During the end-of-year period, products on Bac Giang’s online markets become even more diverse and abundant.

Bac Giang is known for many signature agricultural products, such as wine, chicken, bamboo shoots, honey, vermicelli, rice noodles, yellow flower tea, oranges, and pomelos.
Recognizing the trend of online shopping, many producers and business owners in the province have not only fulfilled orders for traditional stores and markets but also actively posted information and images of their agricultural products on e-commerce platforms.
For example, Bang Thi Sau in Phi Le village, Quy Son commune, Luc Ngan district shared that her family has over 30,000 pomelos this year. They have already sold about 2,000, with prices ranging from 140,000 VND to 180,000 VND (5.5-7 USD) per fruit.
Notably, most of these pomelos have been sold through online channels to customers in provinces and cities such as Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, and Hai Phong.
Similarly, the Da Mai Clean Agricultural Products Cooperative in Bac Giang city has also expanded sales of its dry noodles through platforms like Shopee.vn, Facebook, and Zalo.
Pham Thao Duyen, Director of the cooperative, said that on average, the cooperative sells about 8-9 tonnes of fresh noodles per day, mainly within the province.
Meanwhile, their dry noodle, a 3-star OCOP (One Commune One Product) item, has become increasingly popular, with growing orders from many provinces and cities through online channels.
Building trusted, high-quality sales channels
To support businesses, cooperatives, households, and individuals in distributing their products, bringing local agricultural products and OCOP goods to a wider market, and increasing sales, local authorities in Bac Giang province have made efforts to develop modern online sales channels.
Nguyen Xuan Thao, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hiep Hoa district People's Committee, said, "The district has many typical and unique agricultural products. To bring these local products to various markets, we launched an e-commerce platform in October, with the domain name https://chohiephoa.vn. After going live, the platform attracted 63 production and business units, with nearly 100 products now displayed in online stores."
According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the trend of shopping on e-commerce platforms is growing. San24h.vn, managed by the department, has seen over 22.83 million visits and transactions, an increase of more than 2.23 million compared to the same period in 2023. The platform currently hosts 410 stores displaying nearly 1,000 products.
Bac Giang's signature products are also available on major e-commerce platforms like Sendo, Voso, Postmart, Shopee, Tiki, Lazada, and through delivery partners like VNPost and Viettel Post.
Local businesses have reported a significant increase in sales through these online platforms compared to traditional sales methods.
Over the past time, local authorities and agencies have supported thousands of businesses and producers in Bac Giang in accessing these online distribution methods.
The Bac Giang Cooperative Development Support Center under the provincial Cooperative Alliance recently introduced an e-commerce platform at https://htxbacgiang.vn, while the provincial Department of Science and Technology’s technology and online trading platform, www.batex.vn, also added stores showcasing OCOP products.
According to Pham Cong Toan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, to successfully build modern sales methods, the department and other relevant provincial agencies, as well as local authorities, will continue to assist businesses in digital transformation, improving production capacity, bettering product packaging, and registering their stores on e-commerce platforms.
Training workshops will be organized to help businesses build brand images, create video content, set up online stores, and improve livestreaming skills to promote and sell products effectively.
