Bac Giang: Laborers return to work, businesses stabilize production

Updated: 17:09, 06/02/2025

BAC GIANG - After the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, most laborers in industrial parks and clusters in Bac Giang province have returned to work. This shows positive changes in the employee retention policy of enterprises. A stable human resource has created favorable conditions for enterprises to implement production and business plans in the new year.

Present at Sungwoo Vina Co., Ltd. (Dinh Tram Industrial Park) on February 3 (January 6) - the company's first day of working after long holiday, we witnessed the urgent working atmosphere in most departments and production lines.

The production line at Crystal Martin Vietnam Co., Ltd operates normally after Tet holiday.

Leaving behind the echoes of the 9-day holiday, the workers quickly got back to work. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Production Director of the Company informed that on the first working day, more than 98% of workers returned to the factory.

Sungwoo Vina Co., Ltd specializes in manufacturing export garments, currently creating jobs for more than 300 workers with average income of 8.5 million VND per person per month in 2024.

Some enterprises have a rate of workers returning to work after Tet reaching nearly 100% such as: Sungwoo Vina Co., Ltd. (Dinh Tram Industrial Park), Nichirin Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Quang Chau Industrial Park), Shin Sung Vina Co., Ltd. (Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park), Hana Micron Vina Co., Ltd. (Van Trung Industrial Park).

For Hosiden Vietnam Co., Ltd in Quang Chau Industrial Park, due to orders that needed to be shipped right after Tet, about 500 out of 3,500 laborers worked continuously during the holidays.

In order to encourage them, in addition to paying 300% per person per day (day shift) and 390% per person per day (night shift) according to regulations, each laborer working during these days was also rewarded with an additional 100% of their salary per working day.

Currently, in the province, 8 out of 11 industrial parks have resumed operation with 467 enterprises in production and business, creating jobs for nearly 160,000 workers inside and outside the province.

According to the report of the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board, during the Lunar New Year holidays, more than 8,000 workers of 16 enterprises still went to work. As of the end of February 4, the rate of workers returning to work reached more than 90%.

Duong Van Hung, Head of the Enterprise Management Department (Provincial Industrial Park Management Board) said the number of absentees was because they live in faraway localities, have family issues or difficulty in transportation.

In addition, some companies under the Foxconn Technology Group allowed laborers working through Tet holiday (more than 11,800 people) to take turns off so as to restore their labor force.

Moreover, 12 enterprises in Song Khe - Noi Hoang Industrial Park resumed operation late on February 6.

According to the functional sector, in recent years, the labor shortage after the Lunar New Year holiday has been overcome, the rate of workers returning to factories in the first days of work always reaches 90% or more.

Le Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation said currently, with the desire to have a job and a stable income, most laborers often stick with their employers for a long time. This result is mainly thanks to businesses ‘good welfare policies to care for the workers' lives.

In particular, before, during and after Tet, most companies paid salaries on time, deducted profits to give Tet bonuses and organize many practical gratitude activities to retain workers.

This is also a solution for businesses to develop sustainably because only when there is a stable workforce, the production and business plans can be effectively implemented.
