The delegation was received by Bai Tao, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Foshan city. The meeting was also attended by Vietnamese Consul General in Guangzhou Nguyen Viet Dung.

At the meeting, both sides briefed on socio-economic development of Bac Giang province and Foshan city and introduced potentials and strengths of each locality as well as cooperation opportunities in various fields especially trade, technology transfer, mechanics, investment attraction and traditional friendship between the Parties, states and people of both countries and the two localities.

Mayor of Foshan city recommended that after this visit both sides should support each other in trade development and cooperate to promote strengths in garment and textile, electronics and manufacturing. Government of both localities will continue facilitating businesses for mutual benefits and development.

Besides, the two sides will foster cooperation in education sector including teacher exchange and training and vocational education meeting demand of businesses and cooperation on scientific research. He added, both sides should strengthen cultural exchange to contribute to deepening the good traditional relationship between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau congratulated the achievements gained by Foshan city so far, from which the delegation can learn valuable experiences.

He stressed Bac Giang province and Foshan city have many potentials for development cooperation. He expected the party committee and government of the city to pay attention to fostering cooperative relations in the fields of mutual interest.

Particularly, it was expected to support in boosting trade cooperation between Bac Giang and partners in Foshan city, especially export and consumption of lychee and farm produce of the province to Guangdong.

Besides, the provincial Party Chief hoped that Foshan city would introduce potential businesses and investors with modern technology from Foshan to invest in Bac Giang province. The province is committed to supporting and creating favourable business climate for businesses to invest and expand production and business scale.

Foshan city was also requested to share experience and support Bac Giang province in education and high-quality human resource training. Both sides should promote cultural and tourism exchange and people-to-people relations to deepen the comprehensive friendly relationship between the Parties, states and people of the two countries.

On the same day, the delegation visited Foshan Lighting Company, Dongpeng Ceramic Group and Zumiao Economic and Cultural center in Foshan city.
