Bac Giang students joyfully welcomes new school year
BAC GIANG - The vibrant atmosphere of welcoming the new school year has filled every family and school in Bac Giang province. Today (September 5), along with students across the country, more than 519,000 students of all educational levels in the province have participated in the opening ceremonies for the 2024-2025 school year, themed "Discipline, Responsibility, Innovation, and Education Quality Improvement."
To date, the province has achieved a 96.5% rate of classroom solidification, with 9.5% of schools meeting national standard level 1 and 25.9% meeting level 2, higher than the national averages.

Before the new school year begins, all local schools have completed professional development for teachers, with a focus on those teaching grades 5, 9, and 12 according to the new general education programme.

For the 2024-2025 school year, the province has 762 schools. This is the first year of implementing the 2018 national education programme uniformly from grades 1 to 12.
Bac Giang’s entire education sector is focusing on successfully implementing solutions to enhance education quality and effectively execute the new general education programme, striving to be among the leading regions in the country in terms of education quality.

Ta Viet Hung, Director of the Department of Education and Training, stated this school year, the 2018 national education programme will be implemented uniformly across all grades from 1 to 12. The 2025 high school graduation exam will include two compulsory subjects (Mathematics and Literature) and two electives.
This requires teachers to be more proactive in updating their methods, creatively applying practical knowledge, effectively utilizing equipment, especially integrating technology into specific lessons to ensure students grasp the knowledge.

“The goal of the Bac Giang education sector is to build a safe, healthy, disciplined, responsible, innovative, and high-quality teaching and learning environment,” he noted.

The sector is focusing on fundamentally and comprehensively renewing education and training, concentrating on building a sufficient and high-quality teaching staff at all educational levels, he said, adding it will pay attention and invest in nurturing gifted students, maintaining and further improving the quality of students attending national competitions, striving to be among the top 15 provinces and cities in the country.

The sector also aims to have students compete in the second round of competitions for candidates to regional and international Olympiads. It will enhance investment in infrastructure, focus on digital transformation, and ensure the improvement of the quality of educational activities.
