Binding labours with enterprises

(BGO) – The Trade Union at the industrial parks in Bac Giang province has recently joined hands with all levels, sectors and businesses to launch various activities to care for workers on Lunar New Year holiday. The specific task helped timely encourage labours ahead of a cosy and joy Tet occasion. 

For years, Siflex Vietnam Company Limited (Siflex) in Quang Chau industrial park has paid due attention to labours on New Year and Spring. According to the Chairman of Company Trade Union Tran Xuan Dung, amid severe impacts by Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, Siflex thoroughly took care of nearly 6,000 employees. Apart from 13th month salary, the company organized “Reunion Tet – Peace Spring” programme for their labours.

The Company Trade Union mobilized some 2.1 billion VND to present Tet gift worth 350,000 VND to each worker. People living in special difficult condition were offered five million VND, a gift set and warm blanket per person while two million VND and a warm blanket were presented to difficult cases.

Particularly, ahead Tet holiday, workers were provided one Covid-19 rapid test kit so that they can test before coming back work at the company.

Similarly, Crystal Martin Vietnam Co.,Ltd in Quang Chau industrial park were seriously affected by Covid-19 pandemic last year. On this Lunar New Year, together with the 13th month salary, the company mobilized trade union fund to present 9,500 Tet gifts to workers, each worth 400,000 VND. The special disadvantaged cases were supported two – three million VND more for each.

Other businesses in the industrial parks also timely encouraged their labours by their own method ahead of the biggest traditional festival of the year.

According to the provincial Industrial Park Management Board, there are 385 companies operating in the industrial parks with more than 190,000 workers. They arranged expenses to give Tet bonus for labours (one month of basic salary); mobilized trade union fund and company amount to present Tet gift to each person as well as essential thing for special impoverished ones.

Ngo Duc Thang, Chairman of Trade Union at the provincial Industrial Park Management Board said the organization planned to launch activities to care for labours on Tet occasion to grass roots trade union following the instruction from the provincial Labour Confederation while surveying and knowing the production and business situation at each company as well as the plan to pay for salary and Tet bonus for worker so as to expedite the implementation.

So far, most of the firms have presented Tet gift and bonus to the employees. The average Tet bonus of the 13th month salary hit about seven million VND per person, higher than last year. Particularly, some companies gave bonus up to 14 million VND per person.

This year, more than 1,700 workers stay and work at companies in the industrial parks on Tet occasion. To help them have joy festival, the employers offer the salary rate as regulation, bonus and meals of traditional Tet dishes.

The Trade Union at the provincial Industrial Park Management Board presents milk to workers affected by Covid-19 pandemic.

The provincial Fatherland Front’s Committee and Women’s Union handed over 250 Tet gifts to disadvantaged workers who live in far distance, stay at company on Tet holiday or suffer sickness each worth 500,000 VND.

On this occasion, the Trade Union at the provincial Industrial Park Management Board assisted 500 boxes of milk to workers affected by Covid-19 pandemic; arranged 17 free buses to take worker to hometowns in several provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Hoa Binh and Ha Giang so as to ensure the health condition and disease prevention.

Though the value of gift is not much, it proves kind attention from the local party and authorities, business and trade union to labours so that they can welcome new happy spring in close connection to the enterprises.
