People returning to Bac Giang must actively prevent epidemic, celebrate Tet safely
Strictly complying with medical declaration regulation
On January 17, Hoang Thi Hanh (born in 2000), residing in Lang Ha ward, Dong Da district (Hanoi city), returned to her hometown in Ba Go village, Nghia Phuong commune (Luc Nam district) to prepare for the Lunar New Year celebration with her family.

As soon as she got off the coach, she did not go home immediately, but went to the communal health station to complete the medical declaration. Due to living in a pandemic-hit area, she was instructed by medical staff to take samples for testing and conduct health monitoring to ensure safety for her relatives and the community.
To help people understand the province's anti-pandemic requirements, in many localities such as Hiep Hoa, Viet Yen and Yen Dung districts, local authorities have hung notice boards with the content "Requesting all citizens returning from epidemic-hit areas or other provinces to go to the health stations to make medical declarations before going home". At the same time, they have promoted communications on radio and mobile systems.
As of 5:00 pm on January 22, Bac Giang had 2,602 Covid-19 patients being treated. Of them, about 800 infections are related to people coming to/from epidemic-hit areas. |
Half a month before the Lunar New Year holiday, Chairman of the Hiep Hoa district People's Committee Hoang Cong Bo sent a letter to the Liaison Board of the association of Hiep Hoa people in provinces and cities across the country to wish them a happy Tet. At the same time, he also asked the board to inform the people of the local policy and some information to ensure the local anti-pandemic work when returning to their hometown to celebrate Tet.
Preparing pandemic prevention and control plans for Tet
According to the Department of Health, the epidemic situation in the province is currently under control. Many infected people have been successfully treated and discharged from hospital every day. However, the number of new cases has tended to increase in recent days, with many potential complicating factors.
Therefore, the Steering Committees for Covid-19 Prevention and Control at all levels need to promote communications so that the people are not subjective in epidemic prevention. Community-based Covid-19 teams should grasp the local situation for early detection and timely management of people returning from pandemic-hit areas.

Tu Quoc Hieu, Director of the Department of Health, said that the department had devised a detailed anti-pandemic plan for Tet, directing the units to disseminate to all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers the guiding documents of the Ministry of Health, the provincial People's Committee, the Department of Health and relevant agencies on strengthening pandemic prevention and control measures, ensuring medical work for the Lunar New Year.
The department has also required the units to base on the declared information to classify at-risk groups in order to take appropriate management measures (not implementing quarantine) and perform quick tests for people. They need to strengthen communications to raise people's awareness to strictly observe anti-pandemic regulations and measures, avoiding mass gatherings and big parties.
At this time, districts and cities are preparing anti-pandemic plans for the Lunar New Year holiday, such as preparing forces, vehicles, materials and chemicals; assigning people on duty to handle situations…
In Hiep Hoa district, nearly 300,000 medical masks and protective gear have been prepared, along with 1.6 tonnes of chemicals for epidemic prevention. The staff of the district health center and 25 mobile medical stations, and volunteer groups supporting the treatment of Covid-19 patients are ready to take on the task of taking care of people's health before, during and after Tet.
Only a few days left until the Lunar New Year 2022, for every family to celebrate Tet safely, the Party committees, authorities at all levels and each Bac Giang citizen must not be negligent and subjective in preventing the epidemic.
