Building of 5 expressways about to begin
The Ministry of Transport has instructed expressway project investors and project management boards to complete procedures and begin the construction of 10 projects within the second quarter of this year.

The ministry has also ordered the completion of 9 other ongoing projects within the timeframe.
Among the expressway constructions scheduled to begin are five major projects: the Chau Doc-Soc Trang-Can Tho Expressway in the Mekong Delta, the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway in southern Vietnam, the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway outside HCMC, HCMC Ring Road 3 and the Hanoi Ring Road 4.
The Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang project will be over 188 km long, stretching from the Mekong Delta province of An Giang’s Chau Doc City to the southern province of Soc Trang’s Tran De District. The project is slated to cost around VND44.7 trillion ($1.9 billion), with investments coming from the national budget.
The first phase of the Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot project will stretch 117 km. The project has an investment cost of around VND22 trillion from the national budget.
The first phase of the 4-6-lane Bien Hoa-Vung Tau project will span 53.7 km. Its total investment will cost over VND17.83 trillion.
HCMC Ring Road 3 project will span over 76 km, running through HCMC, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Long An. The total investment of the project is VND75.3 trillion, with VND61 trillion taken from the national budget for the 2021-2025 period, and VND14.3 trillion for the 2026-2030 period.
The Hanoi Ring Road 4 project would span 112 km, running through Hanoi, Hung Yen and Bac Ninh. The total investment cost of the project is VND85.8 trillion.
