Cotton Day Vietnam 2022 to update solutions for textile and garment enterprises

Cotton Day Vietnam 2022 is scheduled to be held on October 4 to provide information on key market developments and solutions for Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises to meet the changing needs of the market in the new situation.

After two years online, this year’s event will be organised in person in Ho Chi Minh City on October 4.

The event themed “Partner for Prosperity”, jointly held by the Cotton USA and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), is expected to attract more than 200 businesses operating in the textile and garment industry in Vietnam.

A representative of Cotton USA in Vietnam Vo Manh Hung said that the organisation of the event will create more opportunities to connect businesses operating in the supply chain, thereby sharing useful solutions to help businesses develop in a sustainable way.

With the participation of leading experts from Cotton USA and businesses operating in the US textile and garment industry, Cotton Day Vietnam 2022 is expected to provide helpful information about the US cotton market and the world cotton market in general, as well as insight into traceability.

In particular, the event will also introduce fashion products using various American cotton materials from domestic fashion brands such as John Henry, Routine, and Modern Humans.

Textile - garment sector sees strong growth
The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) enjoyed a year-in-year surge of 144.2 percent in revenue to over 5.15 trillion VND (224.26 million USD) in the first quarter of 2022, completing 28.5 percent of its target for the whole year.

ILO and Netherlands support Vietnam to address future skills needs in garment sector
The International Labour Organisation (ILO) signed an agreement with the Netherlands on December 16 for a new project that will predict and address future skills needs in Vietnam’s garment sector.
Textile-garment exports to hit 39 billion USD despite Covid-19 pandemic
Vietnam’s textile-garment export revenue is expected to reach 39 billion USD in 2021. This is equal to the planned target set out at the end of 2020 and greater than the highest growth scenario forecasted for 2021.
Garment exports likely to reach $38 bln
Vietnam may gain $6 billion from garment and textile exports in November and December, totaling $38 billion in this year's turnover, stated Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS).
