Deputy PM encourages Vietnamese sports delegation at SEA Games

On the occasion of attending the opening ceremony of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 32), on May 4, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang visited the Vietnamese sports delegation, at Morodok Techo National Sports Complex, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Also in attendance were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang, Vice Chairman of the Government Office Cao Huy, and representatives of concerned agencies, Vietnamese coaches and athletes participating in SEA Games 32.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy PM Tran Luu Quang acknowledged and praised the efforts of all athletes who have actively prepared for the Games.

He underscored that the Vietnamese sports delegation had good news, regarding sports which they haven’t been played before, with only a few months of practice, the Vietnamese athletes immediately obtained a gold medal in the first days of competition.

On this occasion, the Deputy PM suggested that sports leaders need to build a broader sports movement, not only for high-performance sports but also mass sports and outstanding factors can be discovered in order to build a high-performance sports foundation for the country.
