Discussing key aspects of Vietnam's transport infrastructure development policies, Ha noted the project should be swiftly and comprehensively implemented in terms of research, production, development, technology transfer, and workforce training, among others. He also highlighted the need to focus on workers’ material and spiritual well-being, education, and health care.
Vietnam welcomes foreign investments in the sectors of high technology, innovation, supporting industries, electronic automobile components manufacturing, and related technical infrastructure, Ha said.
He added that such investments ought to involve the participation of Vietnamese firms to gradually build a value chain for automotive supply in the country, serving both the domestic foreign markets.
For his part, Gan provided an overview of Geely Auto's project to build an automobile assembly plant, invest in a spare parts supply chain, and establish a research and development centre.
He also put forward several proposals to facilitate the implementation of the project in Vietnam with regard to the local procedures for related environmental impact assessments, fire prevention and control, and construction, as well as tax incentives and credit support.
