Government Office urged to better its consulting role

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the staff at the Government Office to resume working immediately after the week-long Lunar New Year (Tet) as well as continuing to uphold their consultation role to the PM and Government in the near future.

The request was made at a New Year meeting with the office on February 17, the first working day of the lunar calendar year 2021.

Speaking at the meeting, PM Phuc acknowledged the results achieved by the office in giving good advice to the Government regarding taking care of and serving the people during Tet, as well as in issuing directives and dispatches related to COVID-19 prevention and control and overcoming the consequences of recent natural disasters.

The head of government asked the office to immediately get back to their jobs regarding research, offering advice and grasping an overall view of certain affairs, especially on how to protect the people’s health amid the new wave of the Covid-19 outbreak.

He said that the Government Office must meet all deadlines with no delays to any tasks assigned by the central government or proposed by ministries and local authorities.

He also took the occasion to praise the office's staff for carrying out their duties in a responsible manner during the New Year holiday.

Bac Giang exports goods worth 172 million USD in first days of Lunar New Year
(BGO) – The Customs Sub-Department in charge of industrial parks in Bac Giang province has said that from February 12 to 15 (from the first to the fourth day of the Lunar New Year), the unit completed customs clearance procedures for 17 export declarations of Vina Solar Technology Company Limited and Skylink Manufacturing Vietnam Company Limited based in the Van Trung Industrial Park. The goods, valued at more than 172 million USD, were shipped to the US and Canada.
Vietnam records impressive export growth in 2020
Of the six ASEAN nations, only Vietnam posted an increase in exports for 2020, up 7% to US$282.66 billion, according to The Straits Times.
