Ha Nam establishes itself as a world-leading local cultural destination

The Ha Nam Tourism-Cultural Week 2025 aims to introduce and promote the distinctive features of the province’s tourism resources while spreading the cultural identity of Ha Nam’s land and people to domestic and international visitors. Through this, it affirms Ha Nam as a distinctive, safe and friendly destination for tourism.

Numerous exciting activities

The Ha Nam Cultural and Tourism Week 2025 is an opportunity for Ha Nam’s tourism sector to establish the province’s reputation as an attractive destination, including the world’s leading local cultural destination and Asia’s leading emerging tourism destination, with many outstanding values in landscape, aesthetics, history, and culture, along with the friendliness and hospitality of local people.

Activities during the Cultural and Tourism Week 2025 include the opening ceremony and artistic programme “Brilliant Ha Nam”, a fireworks display commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, the 2025 World Triathlon Development Regional Cup & National Championships, the Ha Nam Tourism Investment Promotion Conference, a street carnival, special exhibitions on Ha Nam through history and Ha Nam antiquities, and a workshop on promoting cultural heritage values in writer Nam Cao’s homeland linked with sustainable tourism development on the occasion of the 110th birth anniversary of the renowned writer, among others.

This is an important highlight, honouring the cultural essence of northern Viet Nam, connecting famous tangible and intangible cultural heritage sites in the locality, helping to turn Ha Nam into an attractive tourism destination.

Recently, Ha Nam Province has implemented comprehensive plans and strategies to promote its tourism potential and distinctive tourism services.

The province has developed numerous new high-end facilities, products, and services, such as: the Sun Urban City mega-urban area, a water music show, a series of concerts throughout summer, and Viet Nam’s first water puppet-themed water park.

With many high-quality tourism products, Ha Nam has received numerous prestigious tourism awards from international organisations and websites, notably the titles “World’s Leading Local Cultural Destination” and “Asia’s Leading Emerging Tourism Destination”.

The year 2024 marked outstanding success for Ha Nam’s tourism sector, with many cultural and tourism events in the province attracting numerous domestic and international visitors.

The number of visitors to Ha Nam grew strongly to nearly 6 million in 2025. In the first four months of 2025, the number of visitors to Ha Nam is estimated at 3.5 million, including nearly 1 million foreign visitors.

Orientation towards green, cultural and sustainable tourism development

Ha Nam is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions with a massive, precious collection of tangible and intangible cultural heritage deeply imbued with the identity of the Northern Delta region, including nearly 2,000 relic sites, with 2 special national sites, 97 national-level sites, 145 provincial-level sites; 6 national treasures; 14 intangible cultural heritage items; more than 100 traditional festivals and 40 traditional handicraft villages.

Not only does it possess precious cultural-historical values, nature has also blessed Ha Nam with famous river systems, mountains, and caves such as Tam Chuc Lake, Ba Hang Lake, Doc Mountain-Chau River, Cam Mountain-Ngu Dong Son. These landmarks have become attractive destinations for tourists.

Maximising these advantages, Ha Nam Province has focused on boosting investment in transport infrastructure, urban infrastructure, and commercial services to gradually tap into the natural potential and cultural-historical values effectively for sustainable tourism development.

From this integrated development orientation, Ha Nam has formed several distinctive tourism products such as cultural tourism and festivals with attractive destinations drawing large numbers of visitors for sightseeing and worship such as Tam Chuc Temple, Dia Tang Phi Lai Temple, Long Doi Son Temple, Tran Thuong Temple, and Lanh Giang Temple, as well as rural tourism products with traditional craft villages such as the braised fish village of Dai Hoang, the drum village of Doi Tam, the silk village of Nha Xa.

Notably, many new urban projects following the resort urban model are being vigorously implemented, exemplified by the Sun Urban City Project located in Lam Ha Ward, Phu Ly City, which when completed will become a premier destination for living, relaxation and entertainment experiences not only for Ha Nam residents but also for visitors from the northern region.

Ha Nam is accelerating the completion of comprehensive planning adjustments and approval of functional zoning plans for tourism sites. The province is stepping up tourism promotion activities and has successfully organised many distinctive cultural, sports and tourism events.

The province has focused on attracting and calling for major investors and corporations in cultural and tourism development such as Xuan Truong, Flamingo, and Sun.

Ha Nam Party Secretary Truong Quoc Huy shared: “Ha Nam Province has identified tourism development according to the green, sustainable and harmonious approach, based on the foundation of cultural values, people and nature, high-quality human resources and beautiful natural scenery, which is also one of the province’s economic development pillars.

The organisation of Cultural and Tourism Week 2025 and the aims to introduce, promote and attract tourists and investors to Ha Nam; raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, and people in preserving and promoting national cultural identity and natural resources for tourism development.

This is also an opportunity for Ha Nam to continue expanding tourism development linkages with neighbouring provinces; create opportunities for travel businesses to explore, expand markets, and build attractive tours and routes to introduce to tourists; and attract investors to explore and invest in tourism in Ha Nam.
