Hanoi has been nominated by the World Tourism Organisation to compete with other 17 candidates.

The rest cities suggested for the award are Auckland of New Zealand, Cape Town and Durban of South Africa, Dubai of the United Arab of Emirates, Hong Kong of China, Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia, Las Vegas and New York of the US, Lisbon of Portugal, London of England, Marrakech of Morocco, Paris of France, Quito of Ecuador, Rio de Janeiro of Brazil, Saint-Petersburg of Russia, and Sydney of Australia.

Voters must register for an account at website http://www.worldtravelawards.com before casting their vote.

According to the department, the award is a chance for Hanoi to promote its image, thus attracting more visitors.

Agreement signed to promote Vietnamese tourism through 360 degree pictures

A cooperation agreement was signed between the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and VnTrip Co Ltd. on September 12 on utilizing 360-degree picture technology in promoting Vietnamese tourism.

(BGO) – Construction of the Truc Lam Phuong Hoang Zen Monastery began at the end of 2011 in Nham Son commune, Yen Dung district, the northern province of Bac Giang, with many items completed. The inauguration ceremony of the main hall of the monastery took place on August 29 or the 19th day of the seventh lunar month, opening up new opportunities for local tourism development.
