Localities launch Workers’ Month to support labourers

Da Nang city’s Federation of Labour held a ceremony on April 24 to launch Workers’ Month 2021 with the theme ‘Solidarity, Creativity, Overcoming Difficulties, Development’.

The month will feature various activities, including fairs at industrial parks, the presentation of 5,000 gifts worth over VND1 billion to local workers, the provision of health check-ups and free medicine for workers, and a seminar on seeking solutions to raise the effectiveness of trade union operation.

22 social houses handed over to disadvantaged labourers in Da Nang city at the launch of Workers’ Month 2021.

At the ceremony, the city’s Labour Federation presented certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour to three collectives who have made outstanding achievements in working emulation movements in 2020, and 22 social houses to disadvantaged labourers in the city.

* On the morning of the same day, the 2021 Workers’ Month was also launched in the northern port city of Hai Phong, aiming to build and repair 80 houses and present 1,700 gifts to local labourers.

A trade fair was opened on the occasion, offering workers thousands of essential goods and household appliances with up to 50% in discounts.

* A launch event for the 2021 Workers’ Month was held by the Labour Federation of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in Vung Tau city, Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, on April 23, with a focus on popularising its members on the fine traditions of the Vietnamese working class and the oil and gas sector, encouraging them to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle.

At the event, 60 exemplary workers were honoured for achieving great results in their work and 2,000 other employees living in difficult circumstances were presented with gifts worth VND2 billion.
